Thrive VS. iPad 2 : Tablet wars!
Toshiba has recently released its new Thrive tablet running honeycomb!
This new tablet from Toshiba is a strong competitive in the world of tablets and might even beat iPad 2!
Toshiba Thrive:
It is a nice looking 10.1” tablet that runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb; it offers a powerful performance using the new NVidia Tegra 2 AP20H dual core processor (1 GHz) and 1 GB of RAM.
It comes with different storage options (8, 16 and 32 GB) in addition to an SD memory card slot allowing the user to expand the memory even further (supporting SD memory cards up to 32 GB).
The display screen utilizes LED back-lit LCD capacitive multi-touch screen producing a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels! It is also based on Toshiba’s adaptive display technology which senses the environment around the user and adjusts the contrast and the brightness accordingly.
It also has all the standard features of a tablet i.e. accelerometer, 3.5 mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
It also has GPS with Assisted GPS support, HDMI, Bluetooth, and full HTML browser; and equipped with a rear 5 MP camera that uses auto focus and shoots with resolutions up to 2592 x 1944 in addition to full HD (1920 x 1080) video recording capabilities; it has a 2 MP camera in the front for video chatting as well!
Its battery offers 7-8 hours of battery life time and it is a replaceable battery!
You can buy this tablet for a reasonable price of $429, $479, $579 for models 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB respectively.

Apple was the one who propagated tablets; resulting in people thinking of iPad first when thinking of tablets.
This new tablet from apple offers twice the performance of the processor and almost 10x the performance of the graphics processor and it runs the new iOS 4.3
It has an attractive 9.7” LCD screen that produces a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels; it is equipped with a dual core A5 processor (1 GHz).
iPad 2 is available with 3 storage options 16, 32 and 64 GB and there is no additional memory card expansion slot.
Those three models are available either with Wi-Fi capabilities or Wi-Fi and 3G as well.
It is equipped with 2 cameras; a rear 5 MP camera shooting photos of resolutions up to 2592 x 1944 and recording HD videos (720p), and a front VGA camera for video calling and self-portrait.
You can get iPad 2 for a range of prices starting $499 (for the 16 GB model).
