A review of NZXT-H2
The team at Egypt Hardware website has went through with a review and rating of NZXT's H2 computer case and has provided techegypt with the results of their analysis. The following is a detailed review of the H2 computer case carried out by Eng. Moustafa Hosni.
As you see the computer case is offered in two colors (White - Black). I actually prefer the white color very much, however today we'll be reviewing the black case, as it is more popular in our beloved country! The official distributor of NZXT H2 in Egypt is QDS Egypt.

After opening the front panel, we'll find two intake fans, that provide cool air to the box.
The front panel is a bit heavy to open, it also has a thick spongy layer, which some might find useless especially that there are no openings on the front panel that would allow air to drift through. However this spongy layer works on sucking in the tiny dust particles that could penetrate into the box. This layer traps in those dust particles and prevents it from disrupting the cool and hot air circulation. The spongy layer also drastically minimizes build up of dust on internal parts, that could be affected by such a build up of dust.
Whats new in this computer case...?
The case comes with an external bay on the top, that allows you to easily and quickly add an external HDD, avoiding any need to open panels, installing disks and wiring them etc...!
This external bay is supplys power and data connections using SATA II 3GB/s. Just install the drive you want and close the cover.
As mentioned in the specs, the top panel is configured to support a top 140 mm fan for hot ait exhaust, however if you are unable to install the top fan, then the configured opening for the fan will be a vulnerability for dust to flow into the box.
Having said that, NZXT in this new design provided a beautiful solution for this problem! As we can see NZXT has provided magnatized covers, in order to place them very easily and swiftly on these air openings, to prevent flow of dust into the system and in the case that there is no exhaust fan to push hot air out.
The power button and the very important fan speed controller are found on the top of the case. The fan speed controller allows for increase or decrease of the fan rotating speed, accoridng to your preference.
Also the case comes with a USB 3.0 port, right beside the USB 2.0 ports.
As we mentioned before, there are two front panel cool air intake fans that are 140 mm each. When you remove the front fans, you will be able to see "8" internal bays! You can install your Disks by just sliding them into place from the front panel after removing the front fans.
The front fans can be very easily removed and put back into place as they come with Quick-release clips. The fans get there power from side connection aligned on the front panel as shown. Ofcoarse the fans also come with a filter to prevent any dust flow.
Whats inside the case...?
The case supports the most popular in Egypt ATX boards, however it also supports Flex ATX, MINI ATX, MICRO ATX and MINI ITX boards.
The top exhaust fan is 140 mm, however does not come installed with the case. The rear hot air exhaust fan is 120 mm.
The place for installing the DVD and Fan Controller.
Opening for cables in order to get outstanding Cable Management.
Openings for external slots, to allow you to install all the different cards that you could imagine, as there are seven slots available.
The case also comes pre-configured to support installing fans at the bottom to allow for cool air intake, also the power supply bay is shown.
The power supply bay comes with rubber padding in order to minimize any resulting vibrations.
We can see here the bottom air filter of the case...
This filter prevents dust from flowing into the case. It can easily be pulled out to be cleaned and then slide back into place.
As you can see, the bottom air filter covers the entire area.
At bottom of the case, rubber legs have been placed in order to prevent any movement for any reason.
Here we can see the extra space provided for cables to sit comfortably in place, the more space there is for cables the easier it would be to close the panel.
Final Overview:
- A very beautiful external design and look.
- The sound coming out of the fans is very quite.
